Who We Are

About Us

Ordinary people. Genuine devotion. One simple goal.

We are just regular people — not scholars, not priests, not tourism professionals. We are devotees and curious travellers who have been deeply moved by the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and wanted to do something useful with that feeling.

Like many of you, we found ourselves searching the internet before a pilgrimage — looking for temple timings, directions, what to pack, which aarti to attend, where to stay — and often coming away with scattered, outdated, or confusing information. We thought: someone should put all of this in one place, in a clear and helpful way. So we decided to do it ourselves.

dwadashjyotirling.com was born from that simple idea. No grand ambition, no commercial agenda — just a genuine wish to make it a little easier for fellow devotees to plan their journey to these sacred shrines.

"We didn't start this as a project. We started it as an act of devotion — trying to be useful to the next person who sets out on this pilgrimage."

For each of the 12 Jyotirlingas, we have put together a detailed page covering everything a pilgrim or visitor would need to know — the history and mythology behind the shrine, how to reach it by road, rail, and air, temple timings and darshan procedures, what makes each one unique, accommodation options, and practical visitor guidelines.

We research each shrine using publicly available information — official temple websites, government tourism resources, published books on Hindu pilgrimage, and the accounts of fellow travellers. We try to be accurate and fair, and we always point you back to the official temple source for anything time-sensitive.

We are not affiliated with any temple trust, travel agency, or commercial organisation. We don't sell anything, we don't take commissions, and we don't accept sponsored content. This site exists purely as a free resource for anyone who is planning a visit to one or all of these magnificent shrines.
